SEEDS is a podcast about a set of somatic touch principles that we call Somatic Mindfulness and how it is changing the practices and lives of LMTs and practitioners.
Each episode is a brief conversation with someone who has adopted these principles sharing how it’s affecting their work and their views about massage and life. We eagerly look forward to hearing how practitioners define or describe Somatic Mindfulness. Becca's dual skillset makes her perspective unique. In this episode she's sharing how it comes together in her client work.

Meet Mark Hoch, MD in this episode. Mark found Trager (somatic touch work) while attending medical school. As an already active, embodied person, he found this somatic work gave him a more fully embodied experience. This shaped the trajectory of how he would practice medicine. He has a rich and diverse background that he has combined in a unique and expansive manner that finds the common ground amongst the various systems in which he is trained.
NOTE: Please excuse the couple moments of technological & editorial challenge in this first episode with Mark. They are fleeting and don't detract from the richness of this conversation.

Portraits of the Pioneers is an in-depth look at those who have been actively involved in the exploration, development, and practice of somatic touch therapy.
In this deeply intimate conversation about the work, Abraham offers provocative and evocative thoughts around how the central axis of the body, "the center of who I am" is the beginning of movement, and whatever we want to create in our life. He paints a picture of how this marriage of body, mind and spirit offers us access to the optimal, efficient, pure definition of "who I am, and what my purpose is".
The real work, he explains, is in the process of how we dance this dance with self & spirit using whatever life brings us as a tool to know ourself in this journey.

Portraits of the Pioneers is an in-depth look at those who have been actively involved in the exploration, development, and practice of somatic touch therapy. These two pioneers have both made indelible contributions with Somatic Touch Therapy in the medical world. In this conversation they reveal how their own Stage IV cancer diagnoses have invited them to weave together the wisdom of their work in the journey of this process. Jack talks of slowing down resulting in time expanding. Bill is enjoying the benefits of the ultra open-minded Suisse Medical system as he returns to his roots digging, planting, and being with his lovely wife. Both men are finding lightness and fun, keeping the human connection. To other Somatic Touch Practitioners: Presence is the more powerful part of the work, and it's important to know what the client wants. Remember it's sometimes important to "take the drops", be realistic about what your work can and can't do.
